OZBEY Attorney Partnership & Consultancy believe that a true measure is to be able to make a difference and raise awareness and be able to create intercorporate-consciousness on social responsability and pro bono legal services at the corporates. While it satisfies our ethical obligation to help those in need, it is also part of what makes our lawyers strong leaders of our practices, and our communities.
These awareness increases and ensures the strengthening of social resposability and sensitivity. We consider spreading awareness regarding the injustices prevalent in society and rights available against them also as one of our core responsibilities.
We would like to state that OZBEY Attonery Partnership & Consultacy gladly takes active role in corporate social responsability. By the virtue of awareness, our founding partners become a member of the Association of Asian Women Lawyers (“AAWL”) which is a non- profit making organization and set up in 2001 in UK.
The Association of Asian Women Lawyers is an organization promoting diversity in the legal profession. One of AAWL’s objectives is to provide guidance and support to those wanting to enter the profession, as well to those who are already in the profession but wanting to progress. AAWL’s one of the most important aims and objectives are to promote equality and diversity in the legal professions. In the light of these AAWL organise Pro Bono volunteering activities with Rights of Women which is a not-for-profit organisation, founded in 1975, committed to informing, educating and empowering women concerning the law and their legal rights.
Women affected by violence urgently need legal advice and information to understand and use their legal rights and remedies to find safety, justice and equality.
According as the organisation addressing violence against women is a vital part of ensuring that women achieve equality. The organization runs a free, confidential ‘Advice Line’ for women by women providing specialist legal advice, predominantly in the area of family law. It is a membership organisation which produces publications, organises conferences, training and policy work.
Membership is open to anyone in the legal profession or those with an interest in pursuing our aim of promoting Asian women in the law. If you would like to join AAWL membership please email to Amrit Sagoo with your name/company name and chambers name.
